We all have a date that means something special to us personally, and the 17th October 2014 will be a date that will evoke memories for Gemma & Mikey always.
Gemma always wanted her wedding in the autumn & this day was the most beautiful autumnal day that anyone could ever ask for.
Thank you both for asking me to photograph your memories.
A few weeks ago my friend & fellow photographer Ben (http://www.shutterhappy.co.uk) phoned & asked me to second shoot a wedding for him. I love second shooting, getting to mill around a beautiful wedding capturing all of the natural moments without as much of the responsibility or pressure that comes with being the only photographer.
But this wedding really got to me more than most. As a hopeless (pathetic) romantic myself, I'm always holding back the tears from behind the lens at some point during the day.. but this wedding was on another level. The bride was leaving her family in more ways...
Ikon is a british footwear brand that I've had the privilege of working with several times now. (http://ikonfootwear.net)
This two day shoot was for their Autumn Winter 14 catalogue & was shot in various locations around North London.
It was amazing to take natural light photography to the studio & really experiment with the possibilities.. these are the results.

On Wednesday 22nd January I was fortunate enough to have won a place on an Emma Case Wedding Workshop. http://www.thewelcomehomeworkshop.com
This day was more than I could have ever expected.. so much more than just the business side of Wedding Photography. It was completely about the emotion behind the images & where the images come from. Emma completely exposed herself (not literally, obvs) & let us in to the reason behind why she does Wedding Photography & why it is such a beautiful job to have.
She made me re-evaluate why I was doing Wedding Photography too.
It's to see the look on the father...
September brought with it the first family holiday in a few years… & where else to go other than the Amalfi coast?
I let my 35mm love affair run wild too, not a digital camera in sight.
